A wonderful old bottle of Springbank 12-year-old  Campbeltown single malt whisky released by the distillery in the old-style black label at some point during the mid-1980s or thereabouts. This is a particularly rare and sought after edition of Springbank 12-year-old bearing a back label declaring the whisky to have been matured in sherry wood.

Bottled at 46% without colouring or chill filtration, these old Springbank 12-year-olds would have been distilled in the early to mid-1970s, a golden era for the distillery, and are bursting with character, usually showing a fantastic minerality on the palate along with delicious fruity notes and gentle, peppery smoke. The deep mahogany colour of this glorious old Springbank 12-year-old belies the intense sherried character of this thrilling whisky.
