An old bottle of Macallan Edition Number 2, released in 2016 as the second of six bottlings in the Macallan Edition series, which ran from 2015-2020 and celebrated the company's Six Pillars marketing ethos.
The Macallan Editions were a collaborative series, and Macallan Edition No.2 was one of the best of them, made by Macallan whiskymaker Bob Dalgarno in partnership with Joan, Josep and Jordi Roca from El Celler de Can Roca, the legendary three Michelin star establishment in Girona which was twice named Best Restaurant in the world.
The Roca Brothers & Dalgarno selected a mixture of first fill and refill sherry butts, hogsheads and puncheon casks to create Macallan Edition No.2, which was a release of 229000 bottles at a very hearty drinking strength of 48.2%.
