It's not often you get to try an old Macallan matured in refill wood. This is a fantastic and naked example of Macallans very beautiful distillate. The oiliness, intense aromatic fruit qualities and robust yet subtle smoke notes that are usually masked by sherry, all come out in spades here. A real one off and a fraction of the price of the far inferior official 'fine oak' releases.
