Laphroaig's 10-year-old bottlings from this era have a little less fruit than their '90s and earlier predecessors, with the sooty smoke, saline, tar and bbq herring flavours balanced here by more pronounced sweet vanilla and caramel notes. A rich, full-flavoured dram, this is quintessential Islay malt whisky.
