A small batch Kilkerran Heavily Peated Campbeltown single malt whisky from Springbank's Glengyle distillery. This was Batch 5 of Kilkerran's Heavily Peated series and was released as an official bottling in 2021 at a very substantial natural cask strength of 57.7%.
Glengyle's regular Kilkerran single malt is peated to around 8-10ppm, but the distillery's heavily-peated variant, which is produced in very small amounts annually, has a much pokier phenol specification of 80ppm. Kilkerran Heavily Peated was first bottled in 2019 and has proven very popular, with two batches being released in most years since.
