First released in autumn 2021, Glen Moray 10-year-old Fired Oak is designed as a step up in quality from the distillery's standard range.

As the name suggests, Glen Moray Fired Oak features whisky matured in heavily-charred virgin oak casks alongside the traditional ex-bourbon wood maturation, giving an extra boost of toasted vanilla sweetness to Glen Moray's traditional barley and butterscotch profile.

Glen Moray has been crying out for a bit of premiumisation and this well-priced Fired Oak 10-year-old could be just the ticket.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A sweet shop in a glass. Barley sugars, pineapple chunks and butter toffees.

Palate: Notes of blackcurrant jam and chewy liquorice toffee. Pleasantly sweet and spicy with layers of vanilla oak.

Finish: Dark chocolate dissolves over the tongue, then fades to reveal a hint of smokiness and toasted vanilla.
