Arran 2009-2023 Single Cask | Little Brown Dog Spirits
Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Little Brown Dog Spirits 70cl / 56.3%
A single cask of 2009 Arran bottled in 2023 without colouring or chill filtration by the maverick Dons of Little Brown Dog.
This Arran 2009 is a rather fascinating one, made with unpeated barley distilled as the first distillation after a peated run, so it uses the low wines and feints from the peated distillation, but combined with an unpeated mash. The resulting gently peaty spirit was matured full term in a refill wine cask from posh claret sub-region St. Emilion and yielded 260 bottles at a sturdy 56.3%. This sounds like quite a ride.
