This particular bottle is from Batch 16, which was bottled from a small batch of Oloroso sherry butts and released back in 2005. As many enthusiasts know, these very early batches were truly excellent whiskies.

Aberlour A'bunadh is assembled exclusively from Spanish Oloroso sherry butts and bottled without chill filtration at a full natural cask strength of 59.6%.

Originally introduced at the end of the 1990s, Aberlour A'bunadh took the whisky scene by storm and has remained Aberlour's most popular expression. While the batch numbers were reset in 2025 to reflect changes in maturation processes for modern versions, these earlier editions remain the benchmark for great value cask strength sherried Speyside whisky.
